LED Maintenance of the lighting

The maintenance factor takes into account:

  • the decrease in luminous flux due to failure or aging of luminaire
  • the possible soiling of a luminaire ofer time
  • the spatial and external conditions that can contribute to pollution and aging
  • Duration of the maintenance cycle
  • operating times
  • Lifetime of the system

Example:
With a maintenance factor of 0,5, a system must initially generate twice the luminous flux so that it delivers the illuminance required in the relevant standard up to the first mainentance . The extra brightness in the installation is also referred to as luminous flux buffer.
